Manifestation à Uzès
L'élection presidentielle donne un coup de choque
A concerned group of high school students took
to the streets of Uzès after the first round
of the French presidential election.
A great shock for France...
Extreme right FN candidate Le Pen
took second place nationally, but led
in the Uzès region with more than 20% of the vote.

"To save the Republic, you must vote!"
|

"Down with the Front National (FN)...
F as in fascist
N as in Nazi"
|
|

"Fascism will not happen"
|

"France...Shame" |
|

In the Place aux Herbes...
|

In the courtyard of Town Hall... |
|

On the streets...
|

...stopping traffic |
|

|

Les gendarmes keep an eye on things,
but let the students have their say.

Second round of the election on Sunday, May 5.
Incumbent Jacques Chirac takes on Jean-Marie Le Pen.
You can be sure the French electorate will turn out to vote this
time! |
