The Eiffel Tower in all its splendor...
...invaded by Peggy, Karen & Nan
...will it ever be the same?

Our first Kir Royale, a blend of champagne and creme de
cassis (black currant liqueur), in the City of Lights, with Kent our Photo
Phriend who joined us for a drink after taking our pix...
We were dropped off at Père Claude's (see far right awning), for the first of many dinners to come.

Nan & Peggy in front of the Musée d'Orsay
The long wait at the Orsay was well worth it...

what an incredible collection of art! |
Next stop, Versailles, home to many a King Louis, including
Louis XIV seen below...

The Hall of Mirrors was crowded, but just a look upward takes away the
pain of fighting the teeming hordes.

Symmetry and opulence, grace and excess, including Marie Antoinette's
little Hameau, her specially created farm where she played at
"pastoral"... all this and
more, that's Versailles.

Last stop on our Sunday tour was Montmartre and the Place des Tertres
where artists still display and sell their paintings...and people
(including us) still buy them.
