Snow in the South of France
Last Day of February 2001

On the last day of February, we awoke to a snowstorm...

Out our windows in Uzès, the scene was magical...

...the Place aux Herbes transformed...

But the spring flowers weren't daunted...

Nor were we daunted as we headed to Bonnieux...

...and over the Petit Luberon to Lourmarin...

The eastern part of Provence, from Aix to St. Maximin, were hit hard by the storm, with power outages and highway closings, but for the most part the snow was beautiful, but a reminder that spring is not quite here!
