The Holidays - Part I
Sarah arrives...and we join the Spiro/Morse family in Paris
|
Sarah, Joe's niece, arrived to celebrate the
pre-Christmas season starting with an afternoon in Nîmes...
|
At the Maison Carré, 1st century AD, which Sarah
studied this past semester at Berkeley
 |
|
We took the TGV train to Paris...here we are on a bridge
overlooking the Seine, with the Eiffel Tower a smudge in the hazy
background just to the right of Joe's head...
 |
We met Jill, Stephan and Luke in Paris to revel in the
holiday lights...
First stop...the Ferris Wheel, la Grande Roue, with a quick
ride to the top for an overview of the city. |

Rue St. Honoré, one of Paris' most famous shopping
streets, was all lit up...

as were all the monuments and store windows.
A scrumptious chocolate chalet! |

Wandering along the Seine, taking in the street sights
as we made our way to Notre Dame...

where Stephan took a few minutes to feed the birds...
 |
Our last stop in Paris was the Hotel de Ville, filled with decorations, skaters
and a Carrousel...
plenty of time to take a quick ride!
